Easy to Use for Heat Shrink Connection

Step 1

Strip the wire insulation 1/3 inch on both wire ends.

Tips: Make sure the end of the wire that you strip out is nice and clean (shiny).

Step 2

Thread the connector to one of the wires and then twist the strands together, then move the connector to the middle of the conductor.

Tips: Make sure you strip out the end of the wire long enough for them to overlap one another and stay in the area of the solder sleeve.

Step 3

Apply heat to the connector slowly and evenly with a heat gun with reflector nozzle until it melt to the wires.

1. First, heat the tin-ring in the middle of connector until it melts – This helps the strands connect with each other efficiently.

2. Then, heat the other two color-ring at side, as well as tube nearby, until they melt – This helps the wires connect with each other strongly.

Tips: Someone might use lighter to finish the joint, but we strongly recommend to use a heat gun with REFLECTOR NOZZLE to heat shrink the connector, especially for beginners.

How to make the solder ring melts smoothly and efficiently?

When applying the heat gun to connector, just heat the connector from low to high hot gradually. You can adjust the heat by controlling the distance between heat gun and connector (normally the distance is 3-5cm/1.2-2in).When heating, surround the solder ring for being heated or rotate the wire, ensuring the ring can be heated evenly.

Note: In some cases, a solder ring mark will be left after the tin ring being melt. DO NOTE it doesn’t mean the tin ring is not melted and fails. As long as enough tin is melt to the strands then it works. It is unnecessary to pursue completely meltdown of the solder ring. You can stretch it for a test when the connector cool down.
